ROUNDTABLE ON RACIAL JUSTICE – A Webinar for Pastors & Ministry Leaders – June 18, 2020 – How can pastors and ministry leaders faithfully respond to the issues of racial injustice that our country is facing? That is the core question for this roundtable that will feature four pastors who have worked together in Richmond, Virginia. Don Coleman (East End Fellowship), Corey Widmer (Third Church), Stanley Morton (Crown & Joy Presbyterian Church), and Matt Lorish (Northside Church) will be sharing their perspectives about the current problems and how Christian leaders can use their voices to speak and advocate for change. This free event is hosted by the Compass Center for Christian Formation & Leadership.

ROUNDTABLE – A Lunch Gathering for Ministry LeadersJanuary 23 & 29, 2020This lunch gathering is designed to encourage pastors and other ministry leaders. You’ll hear Tuck Knupp share about what he’s learned from fifty years of ministry – both in pastoral ministry and in parachurch ministry with Young Life. You will also learn more about what COMPASS is offering in 2020 to strengthen and encourage Christian leaders. – Location: Meeting Room at Corner Bakery Cafe in Glen Allen, VA

WORKSHOP – The Enneagram: A Tool For Transformation– March 7, 2020 – The Enneagram is an ancient personality inventory that has been widely used as a tool for spiritual formation. This workshop will provide an introduction into the Enneagram and an overview of the nine personality types. We will explore what each of these types looks like, what motivates them, and provide pathways for transformation for each number. The workshop teachers are Becca Payne and Rose Estes. – Location: Third Church in Richmond, VA

SEMINAR – The Soul of Shame with Dr. Curt Thompson – March 17, 2018 at West End Presbyterian Church –Curt will lead us through the theological and practical tools necessary to understand shame and how the Gospel overcomes the painful power of shame in our lives. Pulling from concepts in his book, The Soul of Shame, Curt will examine how our shame keeps us from being engaged in relationships, community, church, and vocation. He’ll encourage us to find freedom in Christ by learning the truth about who He is and who we are as His redeemed people. This is a free event and with no registration required. Compass Center is co-sponsor of this event wth West End Presbyterian Church, Third Church, Schole House and the Barnabas Center.
