Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”     Matthew 11:28,29 (NLT)

WINTER RETREATS & EVENTS

SOUL CARE RETREAT – January 20 – An Invitation to Something New The scriptures often speak of new things that God is doing (Is. 43:19, 2 Cor. 5:17, Rev 21:5.) As you begin a new year, this retreat is an opportunity to spend time in scripture and in prayer, asking God to show you what new things he wants to do in your life. How is he continuing to make you a new creation? How is he inviting you to grow and change to become like Christ? How will you respond to God’s invitation to something new? – Location: Roslyn Retreat Center in Richmond, VA

ROUNDTABLE – A Lunch Gathering for Ministry Leaders – January 23 & January 29 – This lunch gathering is designed to encourage pastors and other ministry leaders. You’ll hear Tuck Knupp share about what he’s learned from fifty years of ministry – both in pastoral ministry and in parachurch ministry with Young Life. You will also learn more about what COMPASS is offering in 2020 to strengthen and encourage Christian leaders. – Location: Meeting Room at Corner Bakery Cafe in Glen Allen, VA

SOUL CARE RETREAT – February 17 – Living As God’s Children – “The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship…the Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children” (Rom. 8:15,16). What does it mean to live in the Spirit? How can we relate to God as sons and daughters? Join us for this retreat as we explore these questions and other themes from Romans 8. – Location: Roslyn Retreat Center in Richmond, VA

WORKSHOP – March 7 – The Enneagram: A Tool For Transformation – The Enneagram is an ancient personality inventory that has been widely used as a tool for spiritual formation. This workshop will provide an introduction into the Enneagram and an overview of the nine personality types. We will explore what each of these types looks like, what motivates them, and provide pathways for transformation for each number. The workshop teachers are Becca Payne and Rose Estes. – Location: Third Church in Richmond, VA
